Makenzie:The Early Years

Makenzie was a driven child, who one might call a born leader. She often carried on conversations with adults which elicited comments like"she's so grown-up for her age", or "what an amazing vocabulary". She was extremely helpful and cooperative and volunteered for chores and activities, most of which involved crafts. She was never a picky eater and her appetite extended to reading and the discovery of her unknown. She was a day-care baby,(Mom is a teacher you know) and rarely took a nap, preferring to read or talk to the staff. She epitomized the "why" child! Her sister encouraged and challenged her throughout her early years, and protected her until Makenzie could form entire sentences. From then on the roles changed and Makenzie became a staunch defender of the underdog. She was definitely a "daddy's girl" and she and I spent many memorable walks with her perched on my shoulders. She had (and still has) a remarkable sense of humor and nary a joke flew over her head.
Her favorite food was Mac. 'n' Cheese (what else)...her favorite color was purple...her favorite books and videos were Berenstein bears (sister bear was her hero)...her favorite TV shows were GullaGulla Island and Allegra's Window and her best buddy was Grampa Delmotte.
Makenzie's Dad....Mark
