I learned! Woot!

Wow, a class where I can actually apply what I learned. This unit has been fairly basic, but the information is extremely applicable to everyday life. Again, I will talk about my job. Sometimes it's easy to get frustrated with my old geezers, but this memory chapter reminded me that it's not their fault. The brain basically does what it wants, and all we can do is try to manipulate it, try being the operative word. This unit really did help me with studying, though. Connecting images with words has helped me recall information more effectively. Now, when I make flashcards, I also make visual associations. Also, when talking to people, I connect my recollections with vocabulary, which is nerdy, but whatever. I can actually say what I need to say and label it as more than, "you know...that thing, like you know". Memory is a part of everyday life, and by learning about it's logistics, it makes it easier to learn. Makes sense. In the real world, this unit could be applied to law enforcement or in a study skills class.
